Thank you to everyone who joined us and spent the day making resident areas squeaky clean, showering the animals with extra love, and building brand-new garden beds where we'll grow our own vegetables. Help Change 4 Lives This Giving Tuesday
This Giving Tuesday, your support means everything. At Saving Animals & Healing Hearts Inc., we care for nearly 90 rescued farm animals who rely on us daily for safety, food, medical care, and love. Adoption Day!
A Busy Weekend & A Beautiful Beginning! This past weekend was a whirlwind—but for all the right reasons! Our adorable little Jekyll found his forever home! On Saturday, we had the joy of bringing him to his new family, where he’ll be joining a special pig named BeBop. She was recently adopted from the Humane Society, and though much of her past is unknown, we do know she’s a survivor. With old scars and a shredded ear, we’re certain she endured a dog attack. But her future is now filled with love and healing. BeBop’s parents wanted a friend for her, and the moment they met Jekyll, it was love at first sight. He’s the friendliest, most social little guy and has been incredibly patient as BeBop learns to trust and accept him. Thankfully, they live close to the sanctuary, so we’re able to support their journey as they settle in. As of today, these two are starting to spend time near each other along the fence line—small steps that make our hearts so happy. We’re beyond excited for the future they’ll share. This is what rescue is all about—healing, hope, and second chances.

Adoption Day
When you get the opportunity to be part of something so wonderful as finding an incredible home for one of your rescues -- well you celebrate! And that is just what we are doing! Meet George... handsome, debonair, a real sweet talker with the ladies. That's how you find your person... Crystal came to meet all the piggies with her sights set on one of our older guys in foster. We met all of the adoptable piggies at SAHH, and then she thought she would spend a few minutes with our group of 8. I don't think she was in more than a minute before George started turning on the charm. Congratulations Crystal, you have one sweet little piggy there and George, your charming ways won you the big prize... I think you won the piggy lotto!

Just about every month this incredible group comes and helps us with everything from cleaning pens/stalls, projects, grooming horses, and they bring lots of fresh produce donations! Remember this little guy? We posted him recently… he was found next to a dumpster where he was dumped and left to fend for himself. Well, we have the best Friday news! He’s been adopted and now living with his forever family! Look at this beautiful babies smiling face just as happy as can be! He hit the forever home lottery thanks to our friend Alex and his family! He will grow up in a loving home and has a piggy friend! We couldn’t be more happy for him! Happy forever home found Friday! Special Adoption Day!
We are beyond happy to share— Yesterday morning 13 of our sheep friends, mamas and their babies (that were born here at SAHH) rescued from the large neglect case we took on earlier this year, left together to live out the rest of their lives safe in sanctuary with our new friend Shelley at weepiggyharry ! When we took on this very large neglect case we only had one spoiled sheep resident here at SAHH and he’s besties with a pig (Waylon & Pumba)! We have learned so very much battling starvation, illness, multiple pregnancies, and multiple losses. There was heartbreak yes, but also many positive moments! Mamas getting to live out their lives with their babies- that is HUGE, and watching them learn to trust people again is all we could have ever hoped for. We will miss them so much but cannot wait to see how they blossom at their new forever!

What an incredible day with our friends, Kind Heart Coalition on Sunday! After a long week of rain they still showed up and didn’t let the muddy stalls slow them down one bit! They cleaned every residents area, brought tons of veggie donations, and most importantly they gave extra love to everyone! This group of beautiful animal activists have been volunteering with us from the beginning. They are family and we appreciate each of them so very much!

Willow Found Forever!
We have happy news to share! Beautiful Willow went to her forever home yesterday! She will be so loved and cherished for the rest of her life! When our friend, Mar of, Leo’s Animal Rescue expressed interest in adopting one of the piggies from the neglect case I jumped at the chance. I’ve seen Mar’s incredible patience and kind demeanor win over some pretty difficult and abused animals. I knew it was the right choice for Willow to trust and love a human. A little back story on Willow. She was one of the first pigs that went home with us the very first day we learned of this neglect case. She was starved nearly to death. After getting to know her sweet, gentle and shy personality we know that in a large herd of pigs that we’re all starving and fighting for the little bit of food they did get. Willow would not have survived much longer. Willow, has come so far and has now made it to her perfect forever sanctuary and our hearts are full!

Celebrating Piglets 6 week Birthday
Happy birthday Tulip, Rose, and Lily! Today we’re celebrating their 6 week birthday!!! They are so adorable— it’s easy to sit back and smile! Mama Olivia was rescued along with 3 other pigs from a high kill shelter in Riverside, CA. Olivia, delivered 3 healthy baby girls Tulip, Rose, and Lily! Two of the other rescued pigs have been adopted thanks to our friends help All Things Hooved Animal Rescue, and beautiful Raven, (you get a peak of her here) has been spayed and is still looking for her forever home! She is sweet as can be! ❤️ Once the piglets are old enough to be weaned and spayed they, along w mama Olivia will be available for adoption!

US Navy Volunteer Day!
Many thanks to the US Navy for allowing their sailors to volunteer with us here at SAHH!!! These individuals were an incredible amount of help and provided much needed assistance with the “heavy lifting” some of us struggle with. In exchange for their assistance, sailors earn community service hours which helps in their endeavors to advance within the USN. They came and left with great attitudes and some even inquired about volunteering on their own time!

When Pigs Fly!
Today is a very big day for our rescue piggy, Mary! Mary, is flying on her very own private plane to her FOREVER home thanks to these incredible humans, Pilot Julian, from Pet Rescue Pilots, a nonprofit organization that flies homeless animals to their forever homes, and Pilot Derik Heikes! Each time we rescue an animal we hope that with time, proper care and gentle hands that one day we’re able to help heal their broken-heart, rehabilitating them to healthy, and happy. So that they’re able to find an adopter to live how they always should have. Today, we made that happen for one beautiful rescued pig! We love you so much, Mary, and couldn’t be any happier for you sweet girl!

Pools For Piggies
We need pools for each one of our residents pigs! Large sized plastic kiddie piggy pools are needed (no small size pools)! If you have a plastic kiddie pool taking up space in your garage? Or if you would like to purchase a large size pool to a resident pig in need, please message us for drop off time! Emergency Fundraiser For SAHH Residents
Panic... is not something we do around here. We are constantly faced with life and death situations, along with many uphill battles it seems (more lately than ever before). Walking through the store today to purchase our weekly veggies was more than a reality check. Everything was gone...EMPTY! I literally bought everything they had left! Remember we live in a pretty small town. Still, we will not panic... but we do have over 85 residents that rely on us every day and we DON'T have the financial means to purchase a month's supply in advance. With everything going on in the world right now it's crucial that we ask for your help! Please donate pig pellets ($16.99 per bag/50 bags per month), or donate towards 60 bales of hay, supplements for the horses, grain for the sheep and cow, mini-feed for the mini donkeys, medication for the horses and pigs, or please donate towards the purchase of 150lbs of vegetables used monthly. Our friends at Kind Heart Coalition scooped every single residents pen at the sanctuary today! They also finished Jenny & Archie’s luxury new turkey pen and helps moved them in! Missy Earned Her Angle Wings
It is with an incredibly heavy heart, overwhelmed with sadness that I inform you that Missy passed away today at the vets office. We spoke with the vet who was quite perplexed by her symptoms but felt pretty confident that we had a plan to treat the symptoms and move forward. He gave her ulcerguard, he gave her banamine and I was to pick her up on the way home from work. He went back to check on her - and she was gone. Passed quietly - and he has no idea why. My heart hurts so much I cannot even begin to explain it. I feel so guilty for not being there.I feel so bad that she died alone, but I know she died knowing she was loved. She turned out to be one of the sweetest girls ever. When you gave her a treat she would open her mouth just as wide as it could possibly go. I used to laugh and call her my little Pyranah… but when those jaws came snapping down on that treat, they stopped, just shy of my fingers, and gently took it from my hands. So gently. She loved having her back scratched and her belly scratched and she loved it when I would run my fingers across her furrowed brow and tell her how beautiful she was. She was kind of mad at me for syringing watered down juice into her the last couple of days, but I tried to tell her it was for her own good. I hope she left this earth knowing she took a piece of my heart with her. She left too soon. She was supposed to live out her golden years right here with her friends. I love you so much Missy. Rest in peace my little pyranah, you will always hold a piece of my heart. I am so sorry you had such a shitty life, and I pray you know just how much you were loved since you arrived here in December.

Fashion Show Project
It’s official and word is finally out! Our Charlie has been in training because he my friends will be walking the runway in a charity fashion show this Sunday!!! Charlie was chosen to be a part of @petsonq “Pet Fashion Project” featuring adoptable animals (mostly dogs & cats) looking for forever homes! Per Petsonq website: “The fashion show allows adoptable dogs and cats of all sizes taking over the catwalk. Come and see these adorable animals take over the catwalk in their beach wear, casual wear, just to name a few!” Here at Saving Animals & Healing Hearts we fight extremely hard every single day to raise awareness of the overwhelming numbers of abandoned and unwanted mini pigs. We are taking this opportunity to spotlight one of our many rescued potbellied pigs, who is currently looking for his forever home - right along side of dogs and cats... because PIGS ARE family pets too!

Volunteer Event with Crossroads
Incredible efforts at Saturday’s volunteer event with Crossroads! They put together one of our new chicken coops! Which now houses 3 of our newest rescue silkies and rooster. Chula Vista’s animal shelter contacted us and asked if we could take them. We couldn’t leave them to an unknown fait. So here they are in their brand new coop! Volunteer Day with Kind Heart Coalition
Kind Heart Coalition hosted a volunteer day bringing thirty incredible humans, a wheelbarrow full of veggie donations, and ready to rebuild piggy pens, clean stalls and love on all of our rescue residents! We are grateful to have such an awesome group of animal lovers and vegan activists willing to give their time and effort to help care for our animals.

Volunteer Training Class
Our first of many trainings for our incredible volunteers. Many had expressed interest in learning more about horses and our Founder and Director Teri Crutchfield was happy to do so. With almost 50 years of experience, Teri practices natural horsemanship, teaching the volunteers the basics of horse care, feeding and nutrition, how to develop a rapport with horses, reading their body language and utilizing the horses own language to communicate and create a bond built of mutual respect and understanding.

Volunteer Day at SAHH
Thank you “Kind Heart Coalition” for sponsoring our volunteer event. We had 37 wonderful people show up to help us clean up after the heavy rain we received recently. They donated veggies and collected blankets to help keep the pigs warm during these cooler winter nights. They also built a much needed piggy shelter and cleaned pens and stalls! It was absolutely fantastic to not only see so many people working together to get projects done, but the amount of attention and love all the animals received was so heart-warming. I would say it was most definitely one of the most successful volunteer events we have had. Thank you!

South Bay Rescue
We finally rescued the last 11 pigs in South Bay! Do you know what Superman and Batman and every other super hero has that the people in this photo don’t have? A cape. That's it. Just a cape because these are the true SUPER HERO's of rescue. With only a few hours notice these incredible souls showed up to help us remove the remaining South Bay pigs. Without them we could not have accomplished this. I am proud to know such incredibly caring, giving, loving people! These lucky pigs will be ready for forever homes pending clearance. More info on them will be posted on the Adoptions page soon.

Meet & Greet Ramona Ranch Winery

News 8 Visit
Wow, what a crazy 24 hours we have had. Channel 8 news came out to visit the ranch today to do a story on Saving Animals & Healing Hearts. What an exciting experience. I've never seen how the news stories are created. From filming to publishing the segment it was quite an eye opening ordeal. I was no less than amazed at how the reporter Abbie Alford and the camera guy Hank made everyone feel comfortable and I pretty much forgot it was being filmed at times. Then they actually put it together and streamed it to the station just before airing. I was really impressed. Blown away was more like it I cannot thank them enough for their efforts. The response has been fantastic and I really hope it continues. Please keep sharing our story, help us grow our community so we can rally together and help save more animals!
