Troy
Meet Troy - A very special pig.
You may not know who Troy is — most people don’t. But he’s one of our most special residents, and today we celebrate his day.
Troy came to us on an emergency basis, right before our director went in for major back surgery. We didn’t have an open space, and because of his special needs, we couldn’t put him in with the general population. So, in true Teri fashion, she made room in her own backyard.
Troy is blind, born with a wobbly back end that makes him a bit unsteady on his feet. For most of his life, he was spoiled and deeply loved — until his parents fell on hard times and had to give him up. Sadly, he ended up in a couple of places that didn’t treat him right, and his future looked heartbreakingly grim. In fact, he was on the path to being euthanized… until we stepped in.
Now, Troy lives in a safe, secure environment where he knows every corner and can navigate comfortably despite his challenges. He may not see the world, but he sure feels the love around him
